Anyone desiring to compete with the Kentucky Vocal Union in the Fall 2016 Cardinal District Chorus Contest, must read and adhere to all information/requirements below in order to be considered ready to perform.
Please figure out your rooming arrangements and make your hotel reservations by September 9 at the Hilton Garden Inn, Indianapolis Airport, 317-856-9100. Ask for the Barbershop Harmony Group block.
KVU has been asked to sing on the Saturday night show! Please plan accordingly.
As of July 2016, All Official Members Must Obtain the NEW Uniform Current members, and anyone who has recently passed the audition, will need to purchase the required suit and obtain other uniform needs. When you have purchased/obtained these items please let VIC LOVEJOY know. The suit is the only thing that is required to be purchased new and you already have directions for that. Everything else can be something you've used before as long as it is in good shape. You can inform myself or Bob also when you get these things, but we will forward it on to Vic to track. We will use this for the Swope show and other gigs also.
Here are the KVU Class A uniform details - as of July 2016…

4. Black socks
5. Dress shirt
The chorus will order your dress shirt which you will pay for once received. It is about $20 and we will use the sizes you have provided. Contact Vic Lovejoy or Bill Munn to double check they have your size.
Once you've obtained these items please let VIC LOVEJOY know. The Men's Warehouse suit is the only thing that is required to be purchased new (see directions). Unless otherwise discussed, everything else can be something you've used before as long as it looks nice. The KVU will typically use this outfit for all regular performances.
Directions for purchasing the suit from men's warehouse All chorus members must purchase the suit and obtain all items to bring with them to the August 26-27 retreat. This suit will be worn for the fall contest, the Swope show, and the Holiday show, and is not the same as any suit we've worn in the past.
If any questions arise, have them contact Bill Munn at (814) 404-8228 or Michael O'Brien at (502) 773-9322
*Members should go to the nearest Men's Wearhouse:
Enter and tell them you have a Perfect Fit ID and would like to purchase a suit
2. Give them the Perfect Fit ID# 229273954
They will look up a suit associated with this ID# (it’s ablack suit)
3. You’ll be purchasing a jacket and pants.
Pants are un-hemmed, so you will need to go ahead and have them tailored by Men's Wearhouse.
Jackets likely won’t need much tailoring unless desired. It is a $600 suit. They are giving us a deeply discounted price, in addition to KVU being tax-exempt, so the jacket will be $130 and the pants $40 for a total of $170. Tailoring for the pants is $12--additional cost for jacket as needed.
It should be a total of around $182, unless jacket alterations are needed. Bigger/Taller sizes will run approx. $25 more.
4. When getting fitted with pants, be sure to get the Medium break, and the permanent crease
5. When checking out, provide Tax Exemption information as needed from this picture:
